We started Folio because the best books rarely shout the loudest.
Folio began in a narrow shop on a side street in York, where two booksellers spent more time recommending titles than ringing them up. We wanted to bottle that feeling: someone who reads widely, handing you the exact book you did not know you needed.
We read ahead, argue happily, and settle on one quietly brilliant title.
