Time, built to inherit.

Meridian began in 2014 with a stopped watch and one stubborn idea: build a mechanical watch so well that it outlives trends, outlives batteries, and earns a place on the next wrist. This is how we make it, and why it is worth keeping.

It started with a watch that stopped.

Our founder inherited his grandfather's watch. It had stopped years earlier and sat forgotten in a drawer, wound down and quiet.

He took it to an old workshop expecting bad news. Instead the watchmaker cleaned it, oiled it, regulated it, and handed it back running as if it were new. That single watch, made in the fifties, was ready to keep time for another fifty years. It only needed someone willing to care for it.

That was the moment. Most modern watches are built to be replaced, not repaired: sealed, throwaway, forgotten within a season. Meridian was founded in 2014 to build the opposite. A mechanical watch made to be serviced, worn every day, and one day passed on with a name engraved on the back.

How each Meridian earns its name.

A Meridian is not assembled on a clock. Follow the four stages every watch passes through before the name reaches the dial.

Cased by hand

Each 316L surgical grade steel case is brushed and polished by a finisher, not a machine line. The flat brushing on the lugs and the mirror polish on the bevels are cut and corrected by hand, because that edge is the first thing you feel and the last thing that wears.

Where every part comes from

The movement

A 24 jewel automatic caliber, chosen for its serviceable design so any competent watchmaker can keep it running for decades.

The straps

Full grain Italian leather from a family tannery, plus a brushed 316L steel bracelet, both on quick release pins you swap in seconds.

The crystal

Box sapphire glass with an anti reflective coating: second only to diamond in hardness, so the face you look at stays clear for a lifetime.

The case

Each watch is engraved, then laid in a solid wooden presentation case, ready to give and made to be kept long after the box is opened.

What we will not compromise.

Four promises that shape every decision, from the steel we buy to the price on the tag.

Built to be kept

We design for the second and third owner, not the first season. Serviceable movements, replaceable parts and a case made to be worn hard and handed on.

Honest, fixed pricing

One fair price, no inflated tag waiting for a fake discount. You pay for the watch and the workmanship, never for a marketing markup or a middle man.

Covered for five years

A 5 year warranty on the movement and case, a 60 day return window, and a workshop that will service your Meridian for as long as you own it.

Made by human hands

Finished, regulated and inspected by named people, not an anonymous line. If a watch would not pass to our own family, it does not pass at all.

A note from the workbench.

"I did not set out to start a watch company. I set out to build the watch I could not find: one made to be repaired, not replaced, and good enough to leave to my son. Every Meridian carries that promise. Wind it, wear it, live with it, and one day pass it on. We will keep it running for as long as it is loved."

A short history of keeping time.

From one lathe in a rented workshop to 12,000 watches in 38 countries. The road, year by year.

2014

Founded on a single idea

Meridian opens in a rented workshop with one lathe, one bench and a plan to build watches meant to be serviced and kept, not thrown away.

2016

The first five hundred

Our first 500 automatics find their owners, every one regulated and inspected in house. Word spreads on the strength of the wrist, not the ad budget.

2019

The Meridian 01 arrives

Our defining watch launches: a 41mm automatic with box sapphire glass, 316L steel and 10 ATM water resistance, timed over five days before it ships.

2021

Engraving, on the house

Free caseback engraving becomes standard, because a watch you plan to hand down should carry a name, a date or a few words that make it yours.

2023

Five years, as standard

We extend cover to a 5 year warranty across the range and open lifetime servicing support, putting our workshop behind every watch we sell.

2026

Twelve thousand and counting

Meridian now keeps time on 12,000 wrists across 38 countries, rated 4.9 by the owners who wear one every day. The next fifty years start now.
